Dr. Sarah Jean Baker moved to Austin, Texas after graduating from Concordia University St. Paul. She was a teacher and an assistant principal in Round Rock ISD schools, before accepting a position as an assistant professor in the College of Education in the Fall of 2010. She is a recent graduate from the School Improvement PhD program at Texas State, where she also earned her Masters in Educational Leadership. Last year, she was recognized as an emerging scholar through the Clark Scholar program of the American Educational Research Association. She has also presented her reserach at UCEA and BELMAS. Her research interests include: teacher and educational leadership preparation and development, early childhood education, mentoring support, and women's issues in schools. She is also a mama to four children- three sons and a daughter.
