McLaughlin, SD - Lakota Indian Mission

McLaughlin is located in northern South Dakota, eight miles from the North Dakota border. they are a rural farming and ranching community close to the Missouri river, which has excellent walleye fishing! there is a buffalo ranch, a drive in theater, and the Sitting Bull monument in the area.

Date of Trip: Spring Break or Summer - It is suggested that you arrive on Sunday and depart on Friday or Saturday. Please suggest your dates and we will check with for availability.

Cost per Person per week: $30.00 + $25.00 (administrative fee)

Price includes lodging at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLaughlin, SD and t-shirt, journal, and training materials. Groups should bring air mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows and be prepared to sleep on the floor. Please also bring towels for showering at the public school four blocks down from the church.
 
You will be required to purchase and cook your own food and provide your own transportation. Redeemer Lutheran has two stoves, two refrigerators, a microwave, a grill, and a freezer you can use. There is a small grocery store in McLaughlin.
Please clean up after your group to leave Redeemer Lutheran squeaky clean and ready for the next group.
 
Participants will be involved in work projects (painting, cleaning, gardening, etc.) in the mornings and VBS ministry in the afternoons. Past groups have had up to 60 children attending VBS, but there is potential for even more kids to her the GOOD NEWS of JESUS! Groups are encouraged to do their spiritual growth/family group time in the evenings. Some cultural activities may also be available for your group. Please bring your Bible, towel, bedding, air mattresses, work clothes, FOOD, and a servant's heart!!!!
