Concordia announces Foundation Board

to advocate and raise funds for the University

Concordia University Texas is pleased to announce the development of the Concordia University Texas Foundation. With 11 founding board members, the foundation will advocate for the University, cultivate relationships and raise funds.

Founding board members include:

  • Joyce Batcheller, senior vice president/system chief nursing office and dean of the Seton Clinical Academy for Education and Research for Seton Healthcare Family
  • Merritt Belisle, advisory counsel to Reed & Scardino LLP
  • Tony Budet, president and CEO of University Federal Credit Union
  • John Garrett, publisher and founder of Community Impact Newspaper
  • Mark McClain, CEO and founder of SailPoint
  • Rebecca Powers, executive director of Innovation + and founder of Impact Austin
  • Robyn Roberts, member of Concordia University Texas Board of Regents
  • Tom Stacy, president of T. Stacy & Associates
  • Rev. Dr. David Stein, retired professor at Concordia University, Chicago, River Forest, Illinois
  • David Stein, owner and managing partner of Roger Beasley Import Highline Group
  • Keith Weiser, chairman of Concordia University Texas Board of Regents, president of Westwin Petroleum, LP and owner of Weiser Land and Cattle, LLC

“We are excited to launch the foundation and grateful to our founding board members for their commitment to the University,” Dr. Tom Cedel, president, Concordia University Texas, said. “All of these board members have a special connection to Concordia, and we are confident that they will have an impact in bringing greater awareness to the University’s educational and philanthropic priorities.”

Each foundation board member is charged with having an understanding of the strategic vision and philanthropic priorities of Concordia, serving as an advocate for the University in everyday endeavors, and supporting and attending Concordia special events and programs, among others.
