Since 2008, the Concordia University Texas community has partnered with Water to Thrive (W2T) to improve the lives of those living without access to clean, safe water. Through this partnership, the Concordia community has raised funds for SEVEN wells that provide water for over 3,000 Ethiopians. The well sites include four elementary schools.
This year we are again excited to expand the partnership between Concordia and W2T, and we hope you will be part of this vital endeavor!
This academic year, 2013-2014, we will be raising funds as part of a Jubilee Campaign, in conjunction with W2T's efforts to fund 50 wells to celebrate their 5th year anniversary. It is also our 5th year anniversary of partnering with W2T. Our fundraising will center around the number 50. Last year, we raised over $10,000, so we are challenging the CTX community to dig deeper and continue to make an important difference in more communities that lack access to life-giving water.
Join the effort. Give water. Give hope. Give.
This past academic year, the Service-Learning Program created the 3 Well Campaign to encourage the Concordia community to raise $15,000, the amount needed to fund 3 wells in Ethiopia in partnership with Water to Thrive. We raised $10,317.20 and are pleased that we can support 2 wells from this effort and that it involved faculty/staff, students, and alumni in the fundraising. Thank you so much to all of you for your generosity!
