Holiday Break Information

The following is important information regarding residence hall and cafeteria openings and closings during the upcoming holiday breaks.

Fall Break (Saturday, October 11, 2014 through Sunday, October 19, 2014):
  • Residence Halls OPEN- all residence halls remain open during the recess
  • Cafeteria: CLOSED- after dinner on Friday, October 10, 2014 and RE-OPEN for breakfast on Sunday, October 19, 2014
  • Regular Cafeteria Hours resume on Sunday, October 19, 2014
  • If you are planning on staying during Fall Break, please sign-up and notify your Resident Assistant (RA) by Friday, October 10, 2014 at 12:00p
Thanksgiving (Wednesday, November 26, 2014 through Sunday, November 30, 2014):
  • Residence Halls: OPEN- all residence halls remain open during the recess
  • Cafeteria: CLOSED- after dinner on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 and RE-OPEN for breakfast on Monday, December 1, 2014
  • Regular Cafeteria Hours resume on Monday, December 1, 2014
  • If you are planning on staying during Thanksgiving, please sign-up and notify your Resident Assistant (RA) by Monday, November 24, 2014 at 5:00p
Christmas (Saturday, December 20, 2014 through Saturday, January 10, 2015):
  • Residence Halls: CLOSED- all residence halls close at 5pm on Saturday, December 20, 2014 and RE-OPEN at 9:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2015
  • Cafeteria: CLOSED- after dinner on Friday, December 19, 2014 and RE-OPEN for breakfast on Saturday, January 10, 2015.
  • Housing will be provided for individuals who demonstrate an exceptional need to stay late, overnight ,or during an entire holiday recess or semester break after the halls close. Exceptional need is based on the traveling distance from your home or permanent place of residence to the residence halls. An exception may be granted depending on whether you live out of state, out of country, participate in athletics, and/or are employed on or near campus. In case of employment, you must submit your work schedule.
  • All residential students that need to stay over break will be charged $18 per day.
  • For security reasons, key card access will be denied and remain so until the residence halls RE-OPEN on Saturday, January 10, 2015.
  • If you are requesting to remain on campus during the Christmas Recess, you must be granted approval from the Director of Residential Life. If you are requesting to stay over during the Christmas Recess, please complete the Extended Stay Form (PDF) and return the completed form to your Resident Assistant (RA) or the Office of Residential Life by Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 5:00p. Hall meetings will be conducted prior to the Christmas Recess to go over the Holiday Break Procedures
  • The deadline to request to remain on campus during the Christmas Recess is at Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 5:00p
Spring Break (Saturday, March 14, 2015 through Sunday, March 22, 2015):
  • Residence Halls: OPEN- all residence halls remain open during the recess
  • Cafeteria: CLOSED- after dinner on Friday, March 13, 2015 and RE-OPEN for dinner on Saturday, March 21, 2014
  • If you are planning on staying for Spring Break, please sign-up and notify your Resident Assistant (RA) by Friday, March 13, 2015 at 12:00p
Easter Recess (Friday, April 3, 2015 through Monday, April 6, 2015):
  • Residence Halls: OPEN- all residence halls remain open during the recess
  • Cafeteria: CLOSED- after dinner on Thursday, April 2, 2015 and RE-OPEN for breakfast on Monday, April 6, 2015
  • If you are planning on staying for Easter Recess, please sign-up and notify your Resident Assistant (RA) by Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 5:00p
