Slavery is wrong. We all know it. As a country, we’ve officially known it since 1863. But here is something you might not know – slavery still exists. Every man, woman, and child should know that there are 27 million men, women, and children just like them, living in the shadows. In brothels. In factories. In quarries. Working as slaves. In 161 countries, including our own.
On March 5th at noon, Campus Ministries is launching a movement at CTX where we will be standing for 27 hours to raise awareness and funds to support organizations who are committed to ending slavery and supporting victims in their recovery. There will be more information, and a place to sign up outside of the chapel in building A. If you have any questions or want more information, contact Liz Callahan or Emilie Finke.
STAND - We are standing for 27 straight hours to raise awareness for the 27 million people currently in slavery. We need at least 27 people standing up for each hour. You can sign up to stand for one hour shifts, but we encourage you to stand for as many shifts as you can. To sign up, you can click here and send what hours you are willing to stand. There are also sign up sheets outside of the chapel in building A, and outside of Pastor Peffer's office, C-163.
SPONSOR - There are pledge cards that you can fill out to sponsor the people that are standing. You can sponsor either an individual or the entire group that is standing. If each person that is standing is sponsored at $5/hour, our goal of $2700 will be reached easily!! To get more information about sponsoring this campaign, contact Liz Callahan.
