Concordia University Texas and its College of Business are pleased to announce that applications are now being taken for the Central Texas Compensation & Benefits Association Scholarship. This scholarship, funded through a gift by the Central Texas Compensation & Benefits Association (CTCBA), will provide one $1,600 scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year to a student in the College of Business who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management at one of Concordia’s Central Texas academic locations in the Austin area.
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must have attained junior or senior standing, be in good academic and disciplinary standing having a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have a documented financial need as determined through Concordia’s financial aid guidelines. Applicants must be a member of WorldatWork or the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) at the national, local, or university level. Preference will be given to students registered to take the Compensation and Benefits Course (HRM 3320 or equivalent) in the year that the scholarship is offered. Secondary preference will be given to HRM students who have already taken the course or who will take the course as part of their HRM degree. Applicants will be asked to submit a variety of supporting materials including a Concordia transcript, a resume of related work and activities, a list of three references, one letter of reference, and a one page essay describing how the student plans to leave their mark on the world based on their HRM education.
