After more than a decade of leading Concordia University Texas, one of the region’s fastest-growing universities, current President Dr. Tom Cedel announced he would retire August 1, 2014. Upon accepting his retirement announcement, the board of regents officially launched a nationwide search to hire the institution’s next president.

The president is the chief executive officer of the university and serves as the university’s spiritual, academic and administrative head. The official functions of the office of the president are described in the 2010 Handbook of the LCMS, section 18.104.22.168.
The following qualifications are required of all nominees. They must:
Candidates may only be nominated by congregations of the Synod, the Concordia University of Texas Regents, Concordia University Texas faculty and the Concordia University System Board of Directors. Nominations must be submitted no later than December 1, 2013 and must indicate the date on which the submitting body resolved to make the nomination, and the nominees mailing address, phone number and email contact information.
