The College of Education at Concordia University Texas invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Education at the starting rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Appointment shall begin in July 2014. Once appointed, the Regional Graduate Program Coordinator functions under the direction of the Dean of the College of Education and the Center Dean. This position aids in supporting Concordia’s vision and mission by providing academic program support to the graduate program in Education within an assigned geographical market area.
The Regional Graduate Program Coordinator duties and responsibilities will include identifying, hiring and supervising adjunct faculty; implementing quality assurance processes for documenting and evaluating the program and faculty; implementing the assessment program and participating in program improvement efforts; coordination of program delivery within the market; teaching graduate level courses; participating in the College of Education and University faculty meetings, events, and/or committees; and providing marketing support to graduate admissions.
The Regional Graduate Program Coordinator will have the ability to participate on and lead projects. The Coordinator will provide academic advising support, in coordination with other support and advising services, to students in the graduate program. The Coordinator should have the ability to verify adequacy of off-site locations for instructional use and provide local coordination for securing and maintaining access to such sites. The Coordinator will ensure adequate faculty professional development opportunities exist and support graduate admissions to help market the program and promote enrollment. The Coordinator will assist in the fiscal projections for the annual budget process and for student enrollment.
This position is a regular full-time faculty position that will be hired into an Initial Level term contract (normally starting with a 2 year term) that is eligible for consideration for our modified tenure level appointment and will be made at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, depending upon credentials and experience, and is eligible for advancement in rank. This faculty position has an expected annual load of 24 load hours in graduate-level Education courses. This position partially fulfills annual faculty weight load requirements (1/4 to 3/4 of FT load at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Education).
Regular commuting among assigned instructional sites and the Center is required. Regular participation in evening and weekend program related responsibilities, events, and classes.
A terminal degree in Education (Ph.D. or Ed.D)
Five (5) years of demonstrated successful teaching in higher education. Appointment to the rank of Associate Processor requires a minimum of 6 years of college level teaching or the equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in a supervisor capacity (responsible for evaluation and management of employees)
A specialization in Differentiated Instruction, Literacy, or curriculum related field (at least 18 graduate credit hours), or knowledge of content and significant experience and/or skills necessary to teach courses in curriculum, instruction, learning, and exceptional learners.

Salary is dependent upon rank, credentials and experience. The salary plan is benchmarked to the Quartile 1 for private, religious, baccalaureate institutions of similar size as compiled by CUPA-HR.
