Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant for the DFW Center supports Concordia’s mission by assisting with the administrative details of the Center’s Accelerated Degree Program and Graduate programs at the DFW Center.  This position provides office services and administrative support to the Center Dean, M.Ed. Regional Coordinator, staff, students and faculty and supports all active academic programs and teaching sites in the centers’ geographic region.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant for the DFW Center is responsible for performing general administrative tasks including coordinating appointments, phone management, correspondence, filing, ordering supplies, and greeting visitors, faculty, staff and students. This assistant will coordinate travel arrangements for the Center Dean including travel, lodging, and transportation.  They will also coordinate events for Remote Operations including Faculty In-Service, Open House, Back to School Orientations, Guest Speakers, Pinning Ceremonies, meetings, retreats and other events as scheduled. 

The Administrative Assistant will support academic instruction by facilitating classroom needs for faculty and students, scheduling classes, preparing/distributing teaching agreements, assignments and materials, managing all aspects of textbook needs, distributing syllabi, and distributing grade reports.  The successful candidate will also process faculty evaluations, prepare class materials, and ensure confidentiality of records.  The assistant will schedule and support CAAP testing and will collaborate with the Registrar and Financial Aid Offices.  There may be as much as a 4% local travel expectation, along with some weekend and night assignments.

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or some college preferred

  • 1 year experience providing administrative support

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs. (cases of paper, packages, etc.)

  • Must be able to easily move about among classrooms and to different events
