Nursing Instructional Assistants - Temporary Part Time

Practicum Position Summary: The Nursing Instructional Practicum Assistant temporary part time position ensures nursing students safety in relation to patient care.

Position Functions:

  • Assists in making patient assignments to students
  • Assists in the preparation of medications by students
  • Checks students medications prior to administration to patients
  • Assists students in the administration of medications
  • Observes students for safe, effective nursing measures
  • Assists students in the planning of patient care
  • Assists and validates students patient assessment techniques and information
  • Assists and observes common nursing procedures and interventions
  • Assists and validates students recording and reporting
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills Position Summary: The Nursing Instructional Skills Assistant temporary part time position ensures nursing students accuracy in relation to clinical skills and simulation exercises.

Position Functions:

  • Assists in skills laboratory and simulation preparation
  • Assists students in the preparation for skills and simulation
  • Checks students medications
  • Assists students in the administration of medications
  • Observes students for safe, effective nursing measures
  • Assists students in the planning of nursing care
  • Assists and validates students patient assessment techniques and information
  • Assists and observes nursing procedures and interventions
  • Assists and validates students recording and reporting
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Ability to articulate and model the Concordia University Texas mission, vision and values
  • BSN degree required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Must be able to be walking and/or standing for 6 hours per day
