POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Student Central Student Worker position is an on-campus customer service position providing clerical/administrative support to the Student Central staff and assistance to students and family members, faculty, and other visitors to Student Central. The Student Worker position will provide up to 19 work hours per week.

  

POSITION FUNCTIONS   

 

  • Greet all walk-ins and obtain information on the purpose of their visit to Student Central
  • Answer phone calls and route to appropriate Student Financial Planner or Student Academic Planner
  • Route walk-ins to the appropriate Student Financial Planner or Student Academic Planner
  • Schedule student appointments with Student Academic Planners
  • Regularly monitor emails and scan, save, and file documents
  • Organize Student Central front desk and maintain documents, files, folders, etc.
  • Stock and organize Student Central forms
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Complete various projects as assigned
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned

  • Understanding of Title IV and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations and other regulatory issues relevant to position
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to handle large volume of incoming calls and walk-ins, and work well under pressure and during peak seasons
  • Ability to navigate the Internet and use common search engines (Yahoo, MSN, Google, etc.)
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, manage administrative projects and multi-task
  • Ability to operate a desktop computer (PC) and other standard office equipment (fax machine, copiers, printers, scanners, etc.)
  • Ability to articulate and support CTXs values and Code of Conduct and a demonstrated history of strong integrity and high moral character
