CCMA currently offers private traditional instruction in piano, violin, cello, guitar, flute and organ with experienced professional teachers and performers. Private lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes, enabling teachers to develop individualized lesson plans based on a student’s needs.
Each 16-week semester of private lessons culminates in a public recital performance in the Concordia University Chapel. Please visit our Policies to view age requirements for each instrument.
Piano Student Instructors
While our CCMA faculty is comprised of professional teachers and performers, instructors are current Concordia University Music students who have completed their Piano Pedagogy course, passed their Piano Proficiency exam, completed evaluation hours, completed Concordia University Campus Programs for Minors training and have received faculty recommendation.
Parents may choose to enroll in lessons with an instructor for reduced tuition (availability varies, piano only).
Adult Group Classes
CCMA currently offers adult beginner/intermediate group classes in Piano and Guitar in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Class sizes are limited to ensure students get plenty of individual attention and are a fun and informal way to learn your instrument.
Students may supplement group instruction with private lessons, and advanced students are advised to enroll in private lessons.
