2020 Service of Lessons and Carols

2020 Service of Lessons and Carols

Our twelfth-annual Service of Lessons and Carols, presented by the Concordia University Choir and our Campus Ministry program, with readers from our community, is virtual this year.

This year, we feature videos from our popular Christmas at Concordia! choral masterwork series.  Members of the University Choir and Concordia Singers also recorded the foundation of this Service — carols by Joseph Martin, internationally-renowned composer, conductor, and pianist, whose arrangements of carols have been beloved by attendees of our Service for more than a decade.

These recordings were distanced and masked, with time limited in the space to 30 minutes, and with no rehearsal time as a full group — but joyful, heartfelt expressions of the carols, through which we sing joy and peace to a world that desperately needs to hear it.  They feature Joseph Martin at the piano.

Sing along with us this season, from your own homes.  Put it on your TV, and watch it with your family on Christmas.  Sing and listen again to the story of Christ coming into a darkened world to bring it light and hope.  Respond with your own hope and join your song with angels, archangels, and all the company of heaven!
