Family Weekend Events

Preserve Tours
Please come prepared in closed toed shoes and comfortable walking attire. The tour will be approximately an hour led by one of our Environmental Stewardship staff members. We can’t wait to show you the beautiful nature God has gifted us with!

Pluckers' Trivia 
Enjoy some friendly competition and great wings from Pluckers! Trivia teams can be both in person and online. A trivia host from Pluckers will be coming to campus for a CTX round of questions! The winning team will receive Pluckers gift cards! Wings will be first come, first served, and they will be packaged in individual boxes.

Walk & Woosh
Make an impact by participating in Walk & Woosh, either in person or virtually! The funds raised by this effort will support building another well through our partnership with Water to Thrive. Join us on campus on Saturday, Oct. 23, or complete the 2.6 miles in your own neighborhood and send us a picture of you doing your best Walk & Woosh! Registration fees will get each registrant signed up for the walk and an event t-shirt!

On Campus Participants:
To promote social distancing we will have wave start times for the walk from 9am to 10am every 15 minutes. Please check in at least 15-30 minutes before your start time. Select your start time here.

8:30am: Check In Opens
9am: First wave starts, CTX Bookstore available 
11am-2pm: Lunch provided 

Trunk or Treat Carnival
We want to see your Halloween costumes! Come out to the Res Hall parking lot and take pictures in front of themed booths! We will have pre-packaged goodie bags for you to take home. 

Drive-In Movie
Park your car or bring a blanket and join us for a movie in the parking lot! What's a fall drive-in movie without a hot chocolate/apple cider bar and snacks?! Bring your own mug and get a warm beverage to enjoy while watching the movie!

Concordia Sunday!
This year we are very excited to partner with one of our local LCMS churches, ACTS Leander! Our alumni, AJ Vega, can’t wait to greet you and welcome you to their Sunday morning service. They meet at 9:30 am at 207 Sonny Drive, Leander, TX 78641. Please note you are welcome to meet at the Welcome Center on campus and coordinate carpooling with other families you meet throughout the weekend, but this is a fully off campus event.


Family Weekend FAQs

1. When on campus, do I have to wear a mask?
Masks will be required at all in person events. Please visit our COVID-19 page on our website to see all of our policies pertaining COVID-19.

2. Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed on campus if on a leash, but not inside any buildings or in the preserve. Please come prepared to pick up after them and help us keep our campus clean.

3. Are events family friendly?
Yes! All events have been planned with family members of all ages in mind.

4. Where can I stay overnight?
Please see the list of hotels in the area on the Hotels Info tab.

5. Where do I park?
Parking Lot C. When you arrive on campus, front gate workers will direct you.

6. How much does this event cost?
Majority of events throughout the weekend are free. There are few exceptions listed below.

Walk & Woosh- There is a cost to this event which supports our partnership with Service Learning and Water to Thrive. Please see the Event Details tab for more information.

Softball Tournament- You can purchase a ticket for the Softball Tournament as a part of their fundraiser and recieve a meal. If you would like to just watch the game, that is free of charge. 

Dining with the Stars- All are welcome to join us for the Baseball Clubhouse Unvieling! If you would like to support the Baseball Program and attend Dining with the Stars, you can purchase a raffle ticket and a meal at the dinner. For more information please visit the DWTS website

7. How do I register for Family Weekend?
You can register at the top of this page by clicking the "Register" button.

8. What food will be available?
Select meals will be provided on the following days:
FRIDAY- Pluckers wings will be at the Trivia Night, first come first serve while supplies last
SATURDAY- There will be a food after the walk, dinner with faculty, as well as snacks and drinks at the Drive In Movie

For all other meals throughout the weekend the on campus dining hall will be open with buffet meals available to purchase on your own. The hours of the dining hall are as follows:

Monday - Thursday: 7-10:30 AM, 11 AM - 1:30 PM, 4:30-7 PM

Friday: 7-10:30 AM, 11 AM - 1:30 PM, 4:30-6 PM

Sunday: 11 AM - 2 PM, 3-6 PM 

9. Where do I go once I'm on campus?
Upon arrival, follow signs posted to direct you to check in. On Friday, please head directly to the athletic fields. On Saturday, check in will be in the Backyard.

10. Are all activities mandatory?
No, none of the events are mandatory.
