For the unattached friends who just want something to do
You don’t have a significant other. Your friend(s) is also flying solo. Who says you have to be coupled to celebrate?!
Don’t scroll your Facebook feed and envy other people’s great nights! Instead, call up your friend and invite them to Spider House Café and Ballroom!
Check out the photo booth, the Valentine writing booth, the hoverboard booth, and if you’re feeling confident, the kissing booth! Savor some specialty coffee, take advantage of the full bar and munch on some selections from the artisan-inspired menu.
For the “I don’t know where this is going” date
We get it. This might be the last time you go out with this person. It might be the first time. It might be someone you just started seeing, but you don’t want to do something too mushy with.
Rather than stress about expensive reservations, dressing up and expectations, have a blast driving around to various food trucks! Get your fudge-and-strawberries fix with the “Dirty Berry” at Gourdough’s on South First Street.
Have a second dessert at Hey Cupcake! at The Original SoCo location on Congress (the Red Velvet is amazing!). After you’ve had your desserts first (you rebels!) head to Bee Cave and enjoy the convenience of getting to eat what you feel like without worrying about what the other person wants!
For the serious couple
You have been in a committed relationship with this person long enough to know that they have a romantic notion of this day in their mind.
If you show up to class/work the next day, people are going to expect that you did something to woo your significant other, and they are going to ask you what it was.
Impress them by saying you took them out on a romantic stroll and picnic at Zilker Botanical Gardens. Hit the trails for a hike and picnic at the Greenbelt, or head out on a kayak tour and watch the sun go down.
For the ones who hate Valentine’s Day
Maybe you’re single, and the sight of couples Lady and the Tramping it at your local Italian restaurant makes you gag.
Maybe you have someone special, but the two of you have no interest in this Hallmark holiday. Check out Speakeasy's NO SCRUBS - Anti Valentine's Party.
The ’90s Hip Hop Dance Party is free and starts at 9 p.m.
For the old-school types
You don’t need a date for this one, but it isn’t going to hurt you if you have one either.
Experience the wonder that is drive-in movies!
This Valentine’s Day, join Blue Starlite Drive-In and watch some of the classics: “The Princess Bride,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “16 Candles.”
