How to celebrate your graduation

Apr. 05, 2018 by Ashley Sava

So you're about to collect that rightfully-earned diploma! Yay! But after that moment is over, how are you planning to celebrate your hard work? We have some ideas!

extreme sportsGo extreme: The world is your oyster! Why don't you show the universe you're ready to dive in by doing something that makes your adrenaline rush? Bungee jumping, ziplining, freshwater cave diving and even a trip to the nearby iFLY are some examples of extreme sports that might get your blood pumping. Afraid of roller coasters or snorkeling? Get out there and face your fears! You might surprise yourself.

retreatGo on a retreat: If you don't already have a job lined up, you have some time to do something to better yourself. Relax, get to know more people or explore your interests by attending a retreat. Yoga retreats, spiritual retreats, writing retreats and nature-oriented retreats are all great ways to give yourself some "me time" before going out into that bright future.

laughingAttend a comedy club: Relax, kick your feet up and be prepared to laugh because you earned that luxury! Take some friends and hit up a comedy club to enjoy entertainment with the ones that helped you push through to the finish line. Esther's Follies and Cap City Comedy Club are great local options.

road tripRoad trip: Who do you most want to be in the car with for extended periods of time? Convince this person (or those people) to drop everything and go on a road trip with you. Create a fun playlist, pack some snacks, map out the destinations you want to hit and be sure to take in the relaxation of leaving your worries behind.

foodFuel up with food: If you are longing for new spices, unique flavors and want to take your taste buds for a ride, gather your palate up and take it on a getaway. Farm-to-table cuisines, food straight from the source, are available in cities across America. While we understand the beauty of some good Tex-Mex here in Austin, it's amazing to travel to other states and cities to see what they have to offer. Plus, when else are you going to have the time to search high and low just to feed your stomach?
