Jay Sevier Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to one full-time male student and one full-time female student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. Preference will be given to those students majoring in Kinesiology, and having an interest in coaching or teaching and who are pursuing a career working with young people. Minimum cumulative GPA is 3.25. Volunteer efforts in the local or college community and/or church will be considered part of the leadership abilities (successful entrepreneurial traits through personal accomplishments and industriousness). The students should be clearly committed to Christian principles and put Jesus Christ first in their lives.

Recipient responsibilities will include acknowledgement of receipt of this scholarship award to the Sevier Family via a thank you letter, attendance at the annual Scholarship Luncheon (if held), attendance of the annual Spring Sports Banquet, maintenance of a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, continued volunteer service during the year of the award, and maintenance of full-time student status in a Bachelor of Science degree program. Failure to comply/maintain will result in forfeiture of scholarship monies.

  • One page essay describing how you plan to leave your mark on the world.
  • List of 3 references who have worked with you on community projects.
  • Letter of reference

***All references mentioned above must also complete the recommendation form.


Note: By completing this application, you agree to allow the scholarship committee to pull a transcript of your classes taken with corresponding grades and use that in the consideration process.

Deadline

This application, resume, and recommendations must be received by the Office of Advancement, Attn: SevierScholarship, no later than February 17, 2021. All forms must be submitted by the deadline in order to be considered for this scholarship. Deadline dates are final. Inaccurate/incorrect information on the application (inflated GPA, spelling and/or grammatical errors, etc.) will not be tolerated and will be dismissed from the application process.
