Express Checkout Procedure

Important information to consider:

Pros:

  • No need to sign up for a check out time with your RA
  • Move out at your own pace (as long as it is before 5pm on closing day)

Cons:

  • You waive the ability to dispute charges (i.e. damages or cleaning)
  • You waive the opportunity to be present at the time the room will be checked therefore if damage(s) are found or cleaning is required there is an increased risk of being fined

Express Checkout Steps

  1. Move all of your belongings out of your room/building
  2. Complete the Spring Resident Checklist
  3. At the front desk, fill out and place your keys (room and mail) an express check-out envelope
  4. Place the envelope in the drop box located at the front desk by 5pm on closing day

In-Person Checkout Procedure

  4. Clean your side of the room thoroughly; return the room (furniture) to its condition at move-in

Checkouts Should Take No More Than 10 Minutes as Long as

  • All belongings are out of the room/building

  • There are no damages to the room

Please Take Notice:

  • While RAs can assist in identifying potential issues with the room prior to your departure, they are no the final say in what gets charged
  • Missing a scheduled checkout time with an RA will result in an improper checkout charge of $25 or more, and you will have to do an Express Checkout
