Campus Worship

Every year, students, faculty, staff, and their families funnel into the Chapel, where we gather to worship God and the incredible blessings He gives us, the greatest of which is salvation through faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

During this meaningful event, you will hear the Word of God, listen to an encouraging message, and sing worship songs alongside fellow Concordians.

Preserve Tours

Did you know that 250 acres of Concordia's campus are part of a protected nature preserve? During Family Weekend, you can take a spin around the University's beautiful natural treasure, crafted by the hand of God.

The Concordia Preserve is home to the golden-cheeked warbler and black-capped vireo, two endangered species of songbirds, along with other wildlife and a vast array of plants, flowers, and trees.

On the guided tour, you will learn more about this incredible site and how Concordia and Travis County Parks & Wildlife work to protect it.

Tailgate

Hosted next to Tornado Field, the Family Weekend Tailgate offers free food, fun games, and fellowship for you and your family to enjoy.

Tornado Athletics Games

Whether you're a current student or part of the alumni, you're part of Tornado Nation.

The seasons for cross country, soccer, and volleyball are fully underway in October. Check out the Concordia Tornados Athletics site to see which games you can attend during Family Weekend.

Cheer the Tornados on with the University's spirit slogan: Woosh!

Pluckers Trivia

Sweep everyone away with your trivia skills!

A trivia host from Pluckers will lead an exciting CTX round of trivia questions. Enjoy some friendly competition and delicious Pluckers wings.

The wings are served on a first-come, first-served basis, so try to get there early. As they say, "the early bird gets the wings."

Walk & Woosh

Launched in 2020, Walk & Woosh raises funds to support the Service-Learning Program's partnership with Water to Thrive. The money goes toward building wells for rural African communities.

We invite you to participate and complete the 2.6-mile journey on campus or at home. The registration fees go directly to the Water to Thrive initiatives. Whether you walk, jog, run, or skip, you will help make an impact.

Trunk or Treat Carnival

It's time again for the parking lot in front of the residence halls to transform into the ultimate Trunk or Treat Carnival.

Students, faculty, and staff decorate car trunks with creative, funny, and sometimes spooky themes.

It's a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to dress up in your favorite Halloween costumes. Most importantly, there will be candy!

Drive-In Movie

Parking Lot C transforms into an outdoor movie theater on Saturday night. Watch the featured film with your family and friends in your car or outside with blankets and chairs.

What's a movie night without treats? Choose from an array of free snacks and refreshments.

Concordia Sunday

During Concordia Sunday, a representative from Concordia visits a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation in the Texas District to share information about the University, lead a Bible study, and sometimes even preach.

It's also the perfect way to conclude the weekend of festivities, bringing the Concordia community together again for a worship service.
