Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

POSITION SUMMARY 

This position reports to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach and Director of Athletics.  The assistant men’s coach is responsible for assisting the men’s intercollegiate varsity and junior varsity programs with all aspects of the men’s program under the direction of the head coach.  Position responsibilities include the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, planning and executing instructional practice sessions, facilitating discipline-specific individual lessons with student-athletes, game/film review, team travel planning, and serving as a game-day administrator for other home contests.  There will be a second administrative duty to be determined by the AD.

 

POSITION FUNCTIONS REQUIRE   

  • The ability to express independent discretion and judgment;
  • The ability to write, articulate, and uphold University, athletic department, athletic conference, and NCAA policies and procedures;
  • The ability to assess and cultivate student-athlete proficiency in key areas;
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific fundamentals and techniques, physical health, team-concepts, and personal safety; and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to work independently and as a member of a team and be able to effectively communicate to individuals and groups;
  • The ability to demonstrate and uphold Concordia’s mission and values.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred;
  • 1 year of college level athletic coaching is preferred; 
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays;
  • A motor vehicle driving record acceptable to CTX is required;
  • This position requires a working knowledge of the Concordia University Texas (CTX) vision and mission and an understanding of intercollegiate athletic operations, rules, and regulations;
  • Must maintain compliance with first aid, AED, CPR, and Title IX trainings

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to stand for an extended period of time.
  • The ability to lift 20-30 pounds.
  • The ability to travel long distances.
