Concordia University Texas values its diverse population of transfer students. In fact, transfer students make up 50 percent of the incoming class. We work hard to ensure you make a smooth transition. Whether you're coming from a community college or another four-year institution, you have a place here.
Here are five reasons you should transfer to Concordia University Texas to start your life-changing adventure.
5. Generous Merit Scholarships
At Concordia, 100 percent of incoming transfer students receive financial aid.
The University offers traditional transfer students generous merit scholarships:
- Prestige Scholarship
≥3.75 overall GPA
- Distinguished Transfer Scholarship
3.25-3.74 overall GPA
- Achievement Scholarship
2.5-3.24 overall GPA
- Distinction Award: $6,500/yr
≤2.49 overall GPA
4. Education that Meets Your Needs
Our transfer students typically range between the ages of 19 and 40. We offer options and resources to support every type of student.
The University's 20+ student organizations, regular on-campus events and Student Activities provide traditional transfer students plenty of ways to get involved on campus and connect with fellow students. Concordia also offers working adults flexible ways to learn, including evening and online classes, that fit their busy schedules.
Student Ministry & Missions offers multiple ways for you to grow in your faith in Christ. In addition to daily chapel, Concordia offers opportunities to participate in Bible studies, join mission trips and serve the community.
Additionally, all of Concordia's support resources are available to transfer students. Some of these valuable resources include the CTX Library, Academic Support Center (includes free tutoring services, accommodation for learning disabilities, math center, speaking center and writing center) and Vocation & Professional Development (the career center with a full range of services).
3. Seamless Admissions Process
Concordia's admissions process is streamlined; you work with one admissions counselor to get everything done, from your initial transfer application to financial aid and registration.
The application process is simple. Transfer students with 12 or more college-level credit hours completed must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (students who fall below the requirement may be evaluated for provisional admission). Apply online and send your official transcript(s) to the Admissions office; no essay is required.
2. Up to 90 Transferable Credits
Concordia will accept up to 90 eligible college-level credit hours. The Registrar will evaluate your transcript to determine which credits can transfer.
In general, there are three factors that make a course's credits eligible:
- Course is non-remedial or non-developmental
- Course is completed at regionally accredited institution
- Earned grade of C (2.0) or better
1. Concordia's Unique Individualized Support
You're more than just a number at Concordia. Regardless of the way you learn (on campus or online), Concordia's small class sizes allow for individualized attention. You have the ability to interact one-on-one with your professors, participate in enriching class discussions and work on group projects.
