CTX Students Walking

Welcome to the Concordia University Texas family. We’re so glad you’re joining our community! We understand that the first day at a new place can be daunting, so we’ve collected some tips to help you make your first semester at CTX a success!

This advice will help all CTX students, from a first-time freshman or transfer student to an adult learner or graduate student.

Print Out Your Schedule

Instead of arriving at Concordia and scrambling to find the information you need about your classes, print out the first week of your schedule. You’ll be prepared with the course name, the classroom number and the professor’s name.

You can find your schedule in MyInfo. Once you log in, click “Student Records,” “Registration” and then “Student Detail Schedule.”

Give Yourself Plenty of Time to Get to Class

While CTX is in a great location, the road to access it, RM 620, often has traffic and delays. Make sure to leave early to give yourself enough time to get to campus if there are any delays.

Remember Your Student ID

Your ID is incredibly important when you’re on campus, so make sure to keep it with you. It’s how you get through the gate at the Guard House and is used for many other things, including checking a book out from the library.

Use the Classroom Diagrams

One of the greatest obstacles to overcome is simply finding the right classroom. The last thing you want to do is hear the roster called and realize you’re in the wrong place!

Remember Your Parking Pass

While there is typically a grace period for the first couple of weeks, it is essential to put your parking pass on your car, motorcycle or bicycle as instructed.

From 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you must park in the correct lot (indicated on your parking pass). However, as long as you have a valid parking permit, you my park in any lot after 4:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please ask CTX PD. Fines can reach up to $175 per violation.

Local Deals & Discounts

Now that you’re officially a CTX Tornado, you have the opportunity to take advantage of some great discounts!

From a lunch special at Chicken Express to a 15% discount for automotive services, CTX students simply show their student ID at participating businesses and receive a discount.
