Music Technology & Audio Production Meet God's Handiwork through Professor JJ Plasencio

What does an award-winning musician and producer whose work reaches from the recording studio to Netflix spend his days doing? Teaching Concordia Texas students.

Professor JJ Plasencio has built a career as a bassist, songwriter, producer and recording artist. He has both an Emmy and Dove award. His music has been featured in Bridgerton and purchased for future use in other Netflix hits. He also owns Hot Pepper Studio and continues to write and produce music—including Spanish-language worship music.

But Professor JJ is just as passionate about what comes next. At Concordia Texas, he teaches an entry-level music course and is helping craft the new audio production concentration for music majors. He brings professional level equipment to furnish the music studio and industry professionals into the classroom to give students hands-on experience with the tools, expectations and collaboration of professional production.
