Immersive Courses

Participants in our program typically take eight courses designed to immerse educators in course material relevant to Lutheran teachings. These courses provide an opportunity for students to build upon their existing knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the subject areas.

  • The eight courses are as follows:
    • Old Testament
    • New Testament
    • History of Theology and the Church
    • Lutheran Confessions
    • Christian Doctrine
    • Varieties of Belief
    • The Lutheran Teacher I
    • The Lutheran Teacher II

Learn On-Campus

Concordia University Texas offers the Colloquy Program only on campus. However, students can participate in the program from anywhere in the world via the Concordia University Education Network (CUEnet).

  • Accreditation

    Concordia University Texas is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees along with the Doctorate in Education (Ed.D).   • Admissions requirements

    Students coming to Concordia directly from high school with no full-time college experience must have: 

    • GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) 

    Students who fall below the above requirement will be evaluated by the Office of Admissions and may still be eligible for admission to Concordia. Please contact your Admissions Counselor if you have questions about achieving admission. 

    If you are transferring to Concordia: 

    • Transfer students with 12 or more college-level credit hours completed must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. 
    • Transfer students with fewer than 12 college-level credit hours completed must meet freshman admission requirements.

The Teacher Colloquy Program at Concordia is structured to fit the needs of our workers in the mission field. Many of our candidates hold full time positions at Lutheran organizations and therefore use our partnership with CUEnet to complete their colloquy degree requirements. We work with all colloquy candidates on finding their best coursework fit. The opportunity to connect with frontline workers and to help to ensure the Lutheran theological underpinnings is such a blessing!
