Concordia University Texas Earns Six Colleges of Distinction Honors for 2026–2027

You want a college where you can ask questions, discover what you’re good at, and start turning your goals into something real. You want to feel like you belong while you figure out what comes next.

That’s the experience we work to create at Concordia University Texas. And for 2026–2027, we’re proud to have earned six Colleges of Distinction honors recognizing our undergraduate education.

For us, the celebration starts with our students. These honors give future Tornados another reason to take a closer look at the learning, relationships, and opportunities waiting here.

Six Honors That Reflect Your College Experience

Concordia Texas received the following designations:

College of Distinction Texas College of Distinction Christian College of Distinction Business College of Distinction Education College of Distinction Nursing College of Distinction

Colleges of Distinction considers four areas: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community, and Successful Outcomes. Through research and interviews, it looks at how colleges support undergraduate learning and growth.

Think about those areas in terms of your own college search. You deserve opportunities to participate, professors you can learn from, a community you can contribute to, and preparation for the life you want to build.

Put Your Interests into Practice

Maybe you can already picture yourself leading a business, teaching a classroom, or caring for patients. Maybe you’re still exploring. Either way, college should give you opportunities to discover how your interests translate into meaningful work.

Our Business designation recognizes undergraduate learning that connects theory with application, collaboration, and ethical leadership. The Education designation highlights academic preparation and practical teaching experiences. Finally, the Nursing designation recognizes academic, hands-on, and clinical learning that prepares students to provide compassionate care.

Across our university, projects, labs, field experiences, and internships help students practice what they’re learning. Nursing students build skills in labs and simulations, while future educators develop their understanding of teaching and their subject areas.

You bring the curiosity. Your college experience should help you decide where to take it.

Find People Who Help You Grow

Picture yourself working through a challenging idea with a professor. Getting involved in a club that introduces you to new friends. Finding a place to pause between classes on our wooded campus.

Our Colleges of Distinction profile highlights personal teaching, mentorship, and opportunities to connect through clubs, intramurals, worship, and campus events. Here in Austin, students can also explore internships and professional experiences, with Career Services offering guidance along the way.

Those connections matter when you’re choosing your next step. You don’t have to arrive with every answer. Bring your interests, your questions, and a willingness to try something new.

Explore What It Means to Lead with Purpose

Our Christian College of Distinction honor reflects an educational experience shaped by faith and values. As a Christ-centered university in the Lutheran tradition, we connect learning with calling and service.

As you think about your future, make room for a bigger question: How do you want to use your gifts?

Your answer may grow and change during college. We want Concordia Texas to be a place where you can explore it.

We’re proud of these six honors. We’re even more excited about the students who will make this community their own.
