The vision Concordia University Texas has for each student is to prepare them to serve others through meaningful work, and that's the core purpose of Concordia's Doctor of Education (EdD).

Through a curriculum rooted in Christian values and individualized attention from faculty, Concordia EdD graduates are equipped with the necessary leadership skills to implement changes that result in better education.

"Who we are ultimately thinking about is your students," Dr. Stephanie Hartzell, director of the Concordia EdD, explained. "We better you because we want your students to do amazing things."

About the Concordia EdD

The Concordia EdD is a three-year, online doctoral program with two week-long residencies on our beautiful campus in Austin, Texas. For the first two years, you complete rigorous and comprehensive coursework. Throughout the third year, you complete your dissertation and the required practicum.

Ranked by Intelligent.com as one of the top 2020 EdD programs for best specialization options, you can pursue one of two concentrations: Educational Leadership or Curriculum & Instruction. Students pursuing the Educational Leadership concentration have the option to add preparation for superintendent certification without having to take any additional courses.

The Concordia EdD isn't limited to educators. The program is beneficial for anyone responsible for instructing and training others, whether you're an adjunct professor seeking to enter a full-time role at a university or an HR professional wanting to improve your training skills.

The Concordia Difference

There are two primary reasons why the Concordia EdD is so unique. The program aligns with the University's six core values, the most important of which is being Christ-centered. As a University where Christ is honored and all are welcome, Concordia's curriculum prepares students to become educated leaders who uphold integrity, ethics and a mindset of service.

Additionally, our experienced faculty provides you with personalized attention. Concordia's professors are committed to helping you succeed by being easily accessible, challenging you to grow beyond your comfort zone, and equipping you with the tools you need to become an effective leader in education, training and development, and other instructional roles.

The next Concordia EdD cohort launches Fall 2020. All application materials must be received by June 24, 2020.
