Hours for Spring 2019

  • Monday and  Wednesday: 11am to 3pm 
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 8am to 11:30am; 12:00pm to 2:30pm
  • Friday: 8am to 3pm

Students can get help at various stages of writing, from brainstorming ideas to the finishing touches on the conclusion.

Purpose of Tutoring Sessions

The focus of tutoring is to help writers gain one or two skills that they can apply to future writing assignments, thereby permanently improving their writing.

Simply helping writers to edit their work does not result in long-term learning. 

Tutoring sessions are intended to support in-class writing instruction or discussion of writing assignments. 


The Writing Center gives priority to drop-in appointments, and it is always best to bring drafts to the WC for feedback.

We cannot guarantee that an emailed draft will receive timely feedback, but we will use free minutes to give the writer feedback on emailed drafts in the order that the drafts are received.
