The mission of the College of Health Sciences is to develop each health science student's ability to serve as a Christian leader in professional and/or advanced healthcare practice, promoting high-quality, safe patient/client care within diverse healthcare settings.
Meet Dr. Amber Shammas, the senior director of the College of Health Sciences and an associate professor of Nursing.
An experienced RN, she has worked in various healthcare facilities to design and implement orientation programs for new nurses. Additionally, she has worked with e-learning programs to design, implement, and evaluate programs for hospital nurses.
She has leveraged her experience to teach students at Cambridge Health Alliance, Austin Community College, St. David's North Austin Medical Center, and CTX.
